FAQs: Homeschooling with nuro co
If you’re homeschooling in Australia or the UK, you likely have questions about curriculum, registration, and how to document learning.
Below are answers to common questions about using nuro co’s project-based homeschool resources - including how they support requirements, flexibility, and neurodivergent learners.
-
Yes. All nuro co projects are designed to support homeschool registration and documentation in both Australia and the UK.
In Australia:
Each project includes a Registration Pack and Reporting Pack, written using curriculum-aligned language to help you plan and record learning with confidence. In the UK:
Projects include a Learning Log and Resource List to support planning and keeping clear records of learning over time. These tools are designed to reduce stress and help you demonstrate meaningful learning — without relying on worksheets.
You can use them independently, or access additional support through our full-year bundles.
-
Each project is cross-curricular, designed to cover a selection of English, Maths, Science & Technology, HASS, HPE, and The Arts in Australia.
In the UK, projects weave across literacy, numeracy, science, humanities, and arts.
-
nuro co projects are designed for primary-aged homeschoolers.
We currently offer projects suited to:
Years 3–4 (approximately ages 8–10)
Years 5–6 (approximately ages 10–12)
In the UK, these align with Lower Key Stage 2 (Years 3–4) and Upper Key Stage 2 (Years 5–6).
All projects are designed to be flexible and can be adapted up or down depending on your learner’s interests, readiness, and learning style.
-
No, but they are designed with neurodivergent learners in mind.
This means the projects prioritise flexibility, low pressure, and respect for different ways of thinking. Many families find these design choices benefit a wide range of learners.
They tend to work particularly well for children who:
feel overwhelmed by worksheets or rigid expectations
enjoy following their interests
need time to think and process ideas
prefer creative, open-ended learning
This approach doesn’t narrow who the projects are for, it creates more ways for learners to engage meaningfully.
-
Each project includes a student guide, written directly to learners, so they can often work independently. Some activities may need your involvement. Many parents enjoy joining in - but it’s not required every step of the way.
-
Not at all. The projects are written as 8-week journeys with weekly activities to guide you, but you’re free to go faster, slower, or dip in and out. Flexibility is part of the design.

Yes! We’re family-friendly. If you have multiple children learning at home, you’re welcome to use the same project with them all.
In Australia: if children are in different years, parents may need to adapt the registration documents to fit each child’s requirements.
In the UK: projects are provided as stand-alone resources, and parents can adapt them as needed.
-
All resources are delivered as PDFs. Some are best printed and some are easier to use online. Recommendations are provided when you purchase a project.
-
All projects are developed by Cleo, a learning designer, ex-primary school teacher, and homeschooling parent. With years of experience in teaching, higher education and homeschooling, Cleo creates projects that are aligned with curriculum outcomes, are neuro-affirming, and are designed with the needs of real homeschool families in mind.
You’re getting resources made by someone who understands both the education system and the day-to-day realities of homeschooling a neurodivergent child.

Because our resources are digital downloads, all sales are final. However, if you ever experience an issue - like a duplicate order or trouble accessing your files - please get in touch and we’ll make it right.
-
nuro co projects are licensed for personal and family use only. You’re welcome to use the same project with all of your children, but please don’t share the files with other families.
If a friend or co-op is interested, we’d love for them to purchase their own copy. Every sale helps us keep creating flexible, neuro-affirming resources for the homeschool community.

In Australia, homeschooling families are generally expected to show that learning is planned and covers key learning areas. This doesn’t require a traditional curriculum or worksheets.
Many families use flexible, project-based approaches - like nuro co projects - to meet these requirements while keeping learning engaging and meaningful.
-
Homeschool documentation doesn’t need to rely on worksheets.
Many families use:
photos of projects
short written reflections
annotated work samples
nuro co projects include optional tools to help you capture learning in simple, low-pressure ways.
