Project Spotlight: Planet Protectors HQ
Is your child ready to take on a secret mission to protect the planet?
We’re excited to launch Planet Protectors HQ, an 8-week nuro co project designed especially for creative, curious, and neurodivergent learners.
This isn’t a textbook unit about recycling or a list of chores disguised as learning. Planet Protectors HQ invites kids into a world of missions, codenames, logbooks, and imaginative adventures - all while building real knowledge about ecosystems, waste, and the choices we make every day.
What’s Inside the Project?
Over eight weeks, your learner will:
Start their mission by choosing a codename, creating a badge, and launching their very own Mission Logbook.
Explore ecosystems and uncover the hidden connections between plants, animals, and fungi.
Investigate rubbish and recycling as a Rubbish Reporter, turning bin audits into graphs, comics, or even sculptures.
Follow the life of plastic through creative storytelling, zines, or illustrated maps.
Imagine solutions by redesigning packaging, creating smart-swap guides, and crafting eco-messages for change.
Learn from leaders - from youth climate activists to Indigenous land care practices - and reflect on different ways of making a difference.
Take action with one small, meaningful change of their own choosing.
Celebrate and share what they’ve discovered in a format that feels right to them - a showcase, comic, poster, or even a final “report” to HQ.
Each week includes just a handful of core activities (no endless busywork), optional extensions for eager learners, and suggested work samples to support registration.
Why Parents Love It
Neuro-affirming design: Kids can document their learning through drawings, dictation, video, collage, or storytelling. There’s no “wrong way” to be a Planet Protector.
Flexible pace: Some families move through week by week, others dip in and out - both are completely fine.
Real-world skills: Learners practice observation, critical thinking, creative problem-solving, and self-expression.
Registration-ready: The included Parent Pack outlines how activities align with NESA outcomes, giving you one less thing to worry about when reporting.
Who Is It For?
Planet Protectors is designed for Stage 3 learners (Years 5–6), but adaptable for younger or older kids who love hands-on projects. It’s perfect for families who value deep engagement over worksheets, and who want their child’s learning to be both meaningful and fun.
Ready to Join the Mission?
Planet Protectors HQ is available now. Whether your child dives into every mission or picks and chooses the activities that spark their interest most, they’ll be building knowledge, skills, and confidence along the way.
