Welcome to Game Makers!
Turn play into creativity. This 8-week project invites your learner to step into the role of a real game designer - imagining, building, and testing a game of their very own.
About this Project
Does your child love board games, video games, or card games? Game Makers turns that passion into a powerful learning journey.
Over 8 weeks, your learner will explore what makes games fun, design their own characters and worlds, create rules and challenges, and build a prototype to test with family and friends.
By the end of the project, they’ll have a finished prototype or playable concept plus a design journal that showcases their creative process.
We’ve designed this project to be curriculum-aligned, neuro-affirming, and flexible, so you can stress less and enjoy the process together.
What Your Learner Will Do
Over the 8 weeks, your learner will:
Explore and review different types of games.
Brainstorm and choose their own game concept.
Design characters, settings, and layouts.
Define rules, mechanics, and exciting twists.
Build and test a playable prototype.
Playtest with others and refine their design.
Share and celebrate their finished game.
Whether your child dreams of becoming a game developer or simply loves playing games, Game Makers gives them the freedom to create while building real-world problem-solving, design, and communication skills.
