ReInventors | 8-Week Home Education Project
Prices are listed in Australian dollars (AUD). For UK families, that’s about £30 per project. Your card will process the payment in AUD, but your bank will show the equivalent in GBP.
Turn everyday materials into clever ideas — with curiosity, creativity, and hands-on exploration.
In this 8-week project, your learner becomes a ReInvention Agent. They’ll explore objects, test how materials behave, experiment with tiny builds, create a prototype, and design a final invention that’s entirely their own. Whether they love tinkering, crafting, gadgets, tiny worlds, or simply taking things apart to see how they work, ReInventors adapts beautifully to their interests.
It’s playful engineering — gentle, flexible, and designed to help learners build confidence one small discovery at a time.
About This Project
ReInventors begins with curiosity. Each week guides your learner through a new stage of exploration: collecting materials, analysing an object, noticing mechanisms, experimenting with movement and joins, building a prototype, planning an idea, and completing a final invention they’re proud of.
Throughout the project, your learner builds their Project Case File — a record of photos, sketches, tiny builds, questions, tests, and reflections. It becomes the perfect capture of their thinking and creativity, in whatever format suits them best.
ReInventors works beautifully for hands-on learners, sensory seekers, kids who love tinkering with scraps and tools, imaginative makers, and anyone who likes to build things their own way. It’s also ideal for children who feel overwhelmed by technical STEM tasks — because this project makes engineering feel playful, accessible, and low-pressure.
We’ve designed ReInventors to be curriculum-aligned, neuro-affirming, and flexible, so you can enjoy interest-led learning without the stress.
What’s Inside
When you purchase ReInventors, you’ll receive four ready-to-use digital guides:
Parent Guide – step-by-step instructions, discussion prompts, and adaptable activities.
Student Guide – written directly to your learner, with invitations to explore, create, and reflect.
Resource List – curated books, videos, and inspiration for diverse voices and stories.
Learning Log – simple, flexible templates to capture progress and reflections.
What Your Learner Will Do
Over the 8 weeks, your learner will:
Gather interesting materials and create their first discoveries.
Choose an object and analyse its hidden clues, features, and behaviours.
Explore simple mechanisms such as hinges, slides, rotations, and joins.
Try tiny builds in the Maker Skills Lab to test movement, strength, and structure.
Create a small prototype and test what works (and what doesn’t).
Choose an Invention Direction using sketches, ideas, or the optional Idea Generator.
Begin their final build by creating a strong core structure and adding one key feature.
Strengthen, refine, decorate, and complete their invention in Week 8.
Present a simple Showcase — photos, drawings, a video tour, or any format they enjoy.
Build a Project Case File that captures their journey from first spark to finished invention.
By the end of the project, your learner will have created something truly unique — and learned how curiosity, testing, problem-solving, and imagination all work together to spark invention.
