Sensory Architects | 8-Week UKS2 Home Education Project
Prices are listed in Australian dollars (AUD). For UK families, that’s about £30 per project. Your card will process the payment in AUD, but your bank will show the equivalent in GBP.
Design a space that feels just right.
In this 8-week project, your child becomes a sensory designer — learning what helps them feel calm, focused, and inspired, then using those insights to create a space that truly fits them.
Each week layers new skills and discoveries: from noticing how light, sound, and texture affect comfort, to planning layouts, experimenting with materials, and building a model or digital prototype of their own sensory-friendly space.
By the end of the project, they’ll have a completed design and a Designer’s Journal filled with reflections, sketches, and creative ideas — a personal record of self-awareness and design thinking.
We’ve designed this project to be flexible, neuro-affirming, and engaging, so you can stress less and enjoy the process together.
What’s Inside
When you purchase Sensory Architects, you’ll receive four ready-to-use digital guides:
Parent Guide – step-by-step instructions, tips for adapting activities, and extension ideas.
Student Guide – written directly to your child, with invitations to explore, create, and reflect.
Resource List – a curated collection of optional books, websites, and creative tools.
Learning Log – simple, flexible templates to capture your child’s progress and reflections.
What Your Learner Will Do
Over eight weeks, your child will:
Notice how different spaces make them feel — calm, distracted, or energised.
Keep a Designer’s Journal and Sensory Diary to record discoveries.
Explore how design choices like light, colour, and sound affect comfort.
Plan and sketch their own sensory-friendly space with zones for calm, focus, or creativity.
Build a small-scale or digital model using recycled materials or tools like Minecraft or Tinkercad.
Add lighting, colour, and texture details to bring their design to life.
Refine their space for comfort, accessibility, and inclusion.
Share their finished creation through a presentation, poster, or video tour.
Whether your child loves art, science, or hands-on making, Sensory Architects helps them design from the inside out — discovering what supports their comfort and creativity, and turning that understanding into something beautiful.
